Nondiscriminatory Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The governing board of The Monroe School has adopted the following nondiscriminatory policies.<\/p>\n

The Monroe Schools recruits and admits students of any race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin to all its rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. In addition, the school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs and athletics\/extracurricular activities or any school administered programs.<\/p>\n

The Monroe Schools does not discriminate in its employment practices against any person on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin or handicap in the hiring of its certified or non-certified personnel.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

All students are expected to be in the building no later than 8:30 am. Every student is required to sign in at the front desk. In the case of early departure, students are also required to sign out at the front desk in the main office in order to maintain accountability of all our students and their safety. \u00a0A class attendance record of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>at least 90% presence<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is required to\u00a0receive\u00a0class credit, this is assessed quarterly.\u00a0Students arriving more than one (1) hour late for class (without written\/phone excuse from a\u00a0parent\/guardian) may be counted absent. Ten (10) excused or unexcused absences during one\u00a0quarter may result in a failing grade for the class.<\/span><\/h6><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t

Absences for illness, family emergencies, or college visits will be excused. When a student will be late or absent, the parent is required to call the school that morning by 8:00 am and explain the lateness or absence.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A student missing work due to illness or other excused reasons has until Monday or the first day of the following week to make up the work after returning to school. Extenuating circumstances will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Students will be required to dress appropriately for PE which includes closed heel athletic\u00a0shoes with laces or Velcro, blue shorts or sweatpants, and a blue or white T-shirt that meet\u00a0dress code standards. During cold weather, students are required to have a hooded jacket\u00a0or a jacket and a hat. PE is a graded course and proper attire is factored into the grade.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
